Costume Designer & Wardrobe Supervisor
Maiden Lane was created by writers and historians Ivy Anderson & Devon Angus when they decided to adapt their bestselling book Alice: Memoirs of a Barbary Coast Prostitute into a screenplay. When it came time to go into pre-production they felt Sloane was the obvious choice to lead the wardrobe department and to actualize their period specific visions down to every stitch.
Based on true events, Sloane understood the gravity of getting it right. They poured over countless reference images and spent many late nights researching the materials and colors available in 1915 to accurately build Alice’s world. With support of their powerhouse team, Lena Camille Otalora & Isabel Selling, Sloane leveraged their patternmaking & producer skills to create 24 stunning looks for the film’s characters big and small.
